Jennifer Ferguson, PMHNP

I am Jennifer Ferguson, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) specializing as a master's prepared psychiatric – mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), and I have worked in healthcare for over 15 years. I am looking to utilize my ample knowledge and experience in treating adults and young adults with depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and more. I received my bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University and continued on to earn my master's degree from Walden University, graduating from both institutions with honors.
I have worked as a traveling registered nurse in various specialties before and during the pandemic while pursuing this educational path. This experience has profoundly impacted my understanding of the necessity for accessible, affordable, non-discriminatory, quality mental health care. I have become passionate about each aspect of this field, with a complete understanding of the importance of the therapeutic relationship between the patient and the practitioner. I believe that each patient is unique and deserves the same respect, regardless of their background.
An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader
concerns of all humanity.

It can be challenging to build a trusting, productive relationship with mental health providers today. The current healthcare system can leave patients feeling unheard and uncared for. Myself and the other staff at Healthy Minds Counseling, Inc. make the effort to ensure their patients feel comfortable and cared for. Reach out to schedule a visit.

Shelley Milliard, PMHNP

Hi, I'm Shelley, I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, ANCC certified and licensed to practice in Maine, with over 15 years of healthcare experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for children, teens, and adults. I enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults who may be struggling with big feelings, attention or focus issues, anxiety, mood changes, or stress that feels too heavy to carry alone. Often, parents reach out because they want to understand what’s going on with their child and help them feel more like themselves again. My ideal clients are families who want a caring partner in this process—someone who listens closely, offers guidance without judgment, and works together with them to find the right plan. What they need most is a safe space where their child feels seen and supported, and where parents feel heard and included
As a PMHNP, I help children, teens, and young adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood concerns. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and personalized care. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, working with families to create plans that support growth, balance, and resilience.
Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to listen, support, and guide you or your child toward hope and healing. If you’re ready for compassionate, personalized care, I invite you to reach out so we can take the next step together toward a healthier, more balanced future.
